To celebrate the official launch of the project, DCT – Abu Dhabi has launched a preview exhibition for community members till July 17th at Mamsha Al Saadiyat. This mind-blowing immersive artwork will serve as a teaser for the sensorial exploration awaiting the visitors in 2024.
The pop-up preview, which is free to visit, features two visually perplexing exhibitions. The first exhibition is ‘Waves of Light’, a digital installation of continuous loop. The second one is ‘Resonating Microcosms’ with solidified light colour that can be experienced by placing your hand on it.
Exclusive architecture
The exclusive architecture of teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi resembles a white sculptural block conceptualised by TeamLab and realised by Abu Dhabi-based studio MZ Architects. The installations within the space will be “designed to flow” with the amoebic architecture, reported the teamLab.
The purpose-built, 17,000sqm (GFA) waterfront cultural destination unique to Abu Dhabi, which once built will become a permanent venue for its innovative digital art on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi. The building will join Louvre Abu Dhabi, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, the Zayed National Museum and the Natural History Museum at the heart of the cultural district of Saadiyat. This architecture masterpiece will further strengthen the position of Abu Dhabi as a cultural hub.
“Sitting at the intersection of art, technology, nature and high-tech fantasy, teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi will offer a world of boundless wonder and creativity to all who visit, encouraging the new perspectives that are so essential to a thriving future,” said Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, chairman of DCT — Abu Dhabi.
