Get ready for an unparalleled spectacle at Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Festival this New Year’s Eve. The annual cultural and family extravaganza unveils a special program featuring a range of events, shows, folkloric performances, and international art displays to celebrate the season and ring in the New Year.
There will be a record-breaking New Year fireworks at Sheikh Zayed Festival, surpassing 60 minutes and setting four Guinness World Records for quantity, duration, and design complexity.
Adding to the spectacle, an elaborate drone display employing over 5,000 drones will grace the Al Wathba skies with intricate patterns, setting a new regional record.

The Sheikh Zayed Festival is breaking yet another Guinness World Record-breaking with a major firework display that will last 60 minutes continuously.
As part of the New Year’s spectacle, a groundbreaking laser show will take center stage in an unprecedented event. Special presentations by the Emirates Fountain, Glowing Towers Garden, and diverse pavilions within the Festival are also scheduled. Furthermore, the celebration will feature a variety of cultural and civilizational performances from around the world.
Guests can also enjoy the sight of 100,000 vibrant balloons released into the sky to mark the arrival of the new year. Live DJs and music performers will be present, adding to the festive atmosphere.
To accommodate the anticipated large crowd on New Year’s Eve, organizers have arranged for giant screens outside the festival square to broadcast the various events, activities, and performances taking place during the celebration.
Spanning nearly four months, the Sheikh Zayed Festival held annually in Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi, stands as one of the nation’s most significant cultural gatherings. It pays homage to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founding Father of the UAE.
Introducing fresh experiences this year, the festival welcomes a camping village, a Chinese market, and an innovative Flying Cup experience. The latter, blending elements of a ride and a restaurant, enables diners to enjoy their meals several meters above ground.

Among the familiar favorites making a comeback is Wildlife Secrets, featuring a compact zoo showcasing monkeys, lions, and Komodo dragons. Fun Fair City, offering rides, games, and attractions for all ages, remains a prominent highlight. Children’s City continues to captivate with 30 diverse workshops, face painting, VR games, and talent competitions for those up to 14 years old. Additionally, there’s a Crazy Car arena equipped with safe cars designed for small children.
For thrill-seekers, the House of Horror beckons, drawing inspiration from Disney’s Haunted Mansion, a film released this year starring Jared Leto and Tiffany Haddish.
