With less than a week left, plans are being unveiled for the exciting celebrations set for this UAE National Day weekend.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has announced that private and public sector workers will have days off on December 2, 3, and 4 (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday) for the 52nd national day holidays. With numerous events and celebrations for the occasion, the first weekend of December is an excellent time to plan a day out with family and friends.

UAE National Day fireworks in Abu Dhabi
Al Maryah Island
On December 2 and 3, the promenade at Al Maryah Island will serve as the ideal spot to witness the annual fireworks display at 9 pm.
The show is free for all to attend, and for those looking to enhance the experience with a meal, nearby restaurants and cafes, such as Michelin-starred 99 Sushi, LPM Restaurant and Bar, Asador de Aranda, Almayass, and L’eto, are available.
It will be a 4 minute show starting at 9:00pm. Due to capacity restrictions and social distancing, public viewing spaces are limited, and arriving early is strongly recommended to avoid disappointment.
Yas Bay Waterfront
Yas Bay Waterfront lights up for National Day on Yas Island every year, presenting an exhilarating blend of al fresco dining, world-class entertainment, and distinctive leisure experiences.
Visit Yas Bay Waterfront on December 2 and 3 to witness the fireworks showcase on Yas Island at 9 pm this year.
A National Day concert is set to take place at the Etihad Arena on December 1, showcasing performances by Emirati stars Hussain Al Jassmi, Balqees, and Ahlam. Tickets for the 7 pm show are available starting at Dh250.
Al Wathba
From December 1 to 3, the ongoing Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba will feature fireworks displays and a mesmerizing drone show illuminating the sky.
The Emirates Fountain will be illuminated with the vibrant colors of the UAE flag, accompanied by various cultural performances, including folkloric and military shows. As one of the nation’s largest cultural festivals, this three-month event emphasizes Sheikh Zayed’s legacy and pays tribute to local customs and heritage.
Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental
The National Day festivities at Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental have been revealed, concluding with a fireworks display on December 2. The luxurious five-star hotel along Abu Dhabi Corniche will present a pyrotechnics and light show on the beachfront at 9 pm, visible to both guests and the public.
Furthermore, the palace gardens will host a family picnic-style set-up from 3 pm to 6 pm, offering a prime view of the National Day Air Show.
As part of the multi-day program commencing on November 27, visitors can enjoy daily performances of the traditional Emirati Al Ayala dance, indulge in themed afternoon tea, and savor limited-edition menus at the hotel’s eight restaurants and cafes.
