Dubai Metro Blue Line
The new 30km extension of the Blue Line on the Dubai Metro, announced on Friday, will make travel faster, connect neighborhoods, and provide beautiful views while commuting in the city.
Scheduled for completion by 2029, the Blue Line will introduce a historic milestone by featuring trains crossing over the iconic Dubai Creek. This will be facilitated by a 1,300-meter long viaduct supporting the elevated railway, establishing a connection between Al Jaddaf, Dubai Festival City, and Dubai Creek Harbour.
The Blue Line will play a crucial role as the primary integration point connecting the current Red and Green Lines. Aligned with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, it contributes to the vision of establishing a ’20-minute city.’ This transit-oriented approach envisions that residents will have approximately 80 percent of essential services within a 20-minute travel time.
