Sharjah residents will be pleased to hear that, as of Wednesday, July 18, the emirate’s ruler has announced an increase in the compensation amount.
H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has mandated an increase in compensation to AED 50,000 for those whose homes were damaged by the recent rainstorm.
The approved compensation totals AED 15,330,000, aiding 618 affected individuals. Sharjah Social Services will promptly start distributing these funds to the beneficiaries.
These directives from the Ruler of Sharjah came during the “Direct Line” program, which is broadcasted on Sharjah Radio and Television.
Now how can Sharjah residents apply for the aid..
Those whose homes were impacted by the rains can submit their applications via the Sharjah Digital Platform.
Click on “Services” and select the ”Service Providers”. Scroll down and click on “Sharjah Department of Housing”, then click on “start the service”. Proceed by filling out the application.
Earlier this year, Sheikh Sultan directed the relevant authorities in the emirate to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the damages caused by the unstable weather conditions in April.
