At last, parking at Dubai Mall is no longer free

Here's how much it will cost...

parking at Dubai Mall

In December 2023, Emaar Malls announced that parking at the Dubai Mall will no longer be free and will become a paid service. Emaar Malls, in collaboration with Salik, will implement a barrier-free system developed by Salik.

In the coming weeks, shoppers heading to The Dubai Mall will need to meticulously plan their visit, as parking will soon come at a cost.

So, how will the barrier-free payment work?

The barrier-free payment system automates fee collection for ticketless parking using vehicle plate recognition. The payment will be deducted directly from the customer’s Salik user account – the same way it works when you pass the tolls.

And how much will parking at Dubai Mall cost you?

A Salik sign at Dubai Mall indicates that parking rates depend on the duration of your visit. Parking is free for the first four hours on weekdays (Monday to Thursday) and for the first six hours on weekends (Friday to Sunday), as well as on public holidays. After these periods, fees will apply as follows.

But after four hours you will pay the following:

Weekdays (Monday to Thursday)

  • 0 – 4 hours: Free
  • 4 – 5 hours: Dhs40
  • 5 – 6 hours: Dhs60
  • 6 – 7 hours: Dhs80
  • 8 – 12 hours: Dhs100
  • 12 – 24 hours: Dhs500
  • 24 hours+: Dhs1,000

Weekends (Friday to Sunday)

  • 0 – 6 hours: Free
  • 6 – 7 hours: Dhs80
  • 7 – 8 hours: Dhs100
  • 8 – 12 hours: Dhs200
  • 12 – 24 hours: Dhs500
  • 24 hours+: Dhs1,000

The parking fees will apply to the Grand parking, Cinema parking and Fashion parking. At the moment, Zabeel and Fountain Views are not charging for parking.

Exceptions: People of determination, public service providers (police, ambulance, emergency response vehicles, Civil Defense, etc) and valet drop-offs are exempt from parking fees.

When the announcement was made in December, Ibrahim Sultan Al Haddad, CEO and board member of Salik, stated that the goal is to provide ‘sustainable and smart mobility solutions for drivers in Dubai.’

He further noted, “Salik is well-positioned to deliver a seamless customer experience by eliminating the need for gates or barriers at Dubai Mall, thereby reducing congestion and traffic for visitors. We are eager to build on the successes of this initiative and extend similar services to other locations across the city.”
