The Museum of the Future has added a new member to its expanding family of advanced robots.

The agile robodog embodies some of the most cutting-edge technology and AI systems that are currently available with 3D vision, 360-degree perception and movement through the use of 17 joints.

The iconic landmark is inviting people on social media to name their newest member. This can be done by messaging the Museum of The Future through its social platforms, including Twitter and Instagram.

Museum of the Future’s Robodog

Robodog is an advanced robot that uses machine learning and navigates the terrain with unprecedented mobility for a robot. It will be found roaming around the museum lobby, greeting and interacting with all guests.

The new robotic pet will join Ameca, the museum’s AI-powered humanoid, along with Bob the robot barista and the museum’s flying robots (flying penguin, flying jellyfish) among several others.

Designed by US tech firm Boston Dynamics, Dubai Museum of the Future’s new robot dog uses 360° perception to map terrain and avoid obstacles and can balance on uneven surfaces. The robodog’s base platform provides advanced mobility and perception to navigate stairs, gravel, and rough terrain while collecting 2D and 3D information with on board-sensors.

The Museum of the Future, is Dubai’s one of the latest landmarks, launched on 22 February 2022. Located in the financial district of Dubai, the Museum of the Future has three main elements: green hill, building, and void. The green hill represents the earth, while the gleaming, futuristic oval building symbolizes humankind. The structure’s void signifies innovation. The Museum explores how society could evolve in the coming decades using science and technology.

The Museum of the Future builds on the visionary culture of the UAE and the philosophy and vision of H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
